Shoutout for Todd

If you're looking for some indie/soul/pop music with a heart for Christ, check out Todd Warren's new album Breakthrough. Half a life ago, Todd and I went to the same church (First Baptist Church Euless - Hey! Their vision now is "Believe, Belong, Begin." They almost got it right. Woodland Acres' vision is "Believe, Belong, Bless," which is much more biblical, but I digress.). We even sang in the same ensemble, Perfect Peace. Back then, Todd's vocal prowess made him the real deal. The rest of us could sing good enough, but compared to Todd, we were posers.

I ran across Todd about six years ago at a Promise Keepers conference. The message that night was powerful/amazing, and then the praise team got up to lead in a song of invitation. I heard the voice and thought, "That dude sounds just like Todd." When the camera finally looked his way, sure enough. Todd Warren was on the big screen singing a solo.

To quote Todd's website: "Todd Warren is the genuine experience. You’ll be reminiscently drawn in as he emotes old-school soul amid his fresh indie-pop soundscape. Once associated with bands & other genres, Todd is shaping a unique design of vibrant melodies & buoyant gratefulness. His new release, Breakthrough, is spirited & bold, full of most everything you probably love… so get your fun shoes on & enjoy the brilliant rush."

So check it out. And buy his album, too.
